Keith Davis was an observer, a biologist who took on the duty of observing fisheries around the world to report on compliance, safety, and more. It is a dangerous job, not only because work at sea is inherently treacherous, but also because observers are often considered a threat to the livelihood of many crew and captains.

Despite his professional demeanor and long history of working well with crews on these vessels, something went terribly wrong on a voyage off the coast of Peru in 2015. Keith Davis disappeared. No formal investigation has ever produced answers, so an effort is being made to undertake a private investigation, with possible political implications.

The international fisheries business is behind major environmental threats but still, illegal fishing continues unchecked, endangering not only our ecosystem, but the socioeconomic stability of entire continents, not to mention the daily safety concerns to workers involved in this industry.

Mike Bullinger is wanted for the murders of Cheryl Baker, Nadja Medley, and Nadja’s young daughter, Payton Medley in early June of 2017, He had a two week long head start before the authorities began searching for him.

Bullinger is 61 years old, and when he went on the run, he had gray hair, brown eyes, was six ft one, and about 240 lbs. He likes motorcycles, planes, hunting, guns, horses, and the outdoors. He also likes to lie and cheat. He is a master manipulator, and somewhat of a chameleon, so check out his picture and keep an eye out for him.

The entire state of Utah was rocked in early 1974 when a horrendous series of events occurred. The violence and sadistic nature of the abuse and torture subjected to the innocent victims had a shattering effect on those remaining, and all of the victims’ families. Hear how the unique reactions to the life-changing crimes reveal that as victims and co-victims, people find ways to cope that work for them.

For production of this episode, we relied on information gleaned from archived newspaper articles from The Ogden Standard Examiner and the Salt Lake Tribune. We also relied on the years of exhaustive research performed by author Gary Kinder, who wrote one of the realest true crime books out there, entitled Victim: The Other Side of Murder. If you are interested in this genre and have not read it, it’s simply a must. If you are not interested in this genre, but appreciate the beauty of individualized perseverence, it’s simply a must. The strength of character exhibited by the victims and co-victims cannot but inspire. This is not just about some sadistic killers. It’s about the stubborn determination to proceed with life after that life has been impacted by psychopaths.

This case has been resolved, so there is no call to action.

She was eager to reveal the gender of her unborn baby at a special baby shower, and even though her pregnancy was high-risk with her baby in a breech position, she was busy readying herself to welcome friends and family to this joyous event.

But Akia never made it to the baby shower she’d already spent hundreds of dollars to plan. She never made it to her other appointments that week either. When Akia failed to pick her daughter up from a family member’s house, that is when Akia’s loved ones knew something beyond her control had happened to her.

This story will detail everything we know about Akia and her disappearance. Who would want to hurt Akia, a doting mom, beloved friend and family member, and a young lady with dreams for a bright future with a new boyfriend and father of her unborn baby?

Akia’s family has put all their faith in the investigatory sophistication of the Baltimore Police Department. Will BPD bring Akia and her baby home or bring a criminal to justice?

In the mid-2000s, two men suspiciously disappeared right after a local ranch owner becamed angered at each of them. The first, Donald Cavanaugh, disappeared in March of 2005. He was the uncle of the temperamental James Denoyer, on whose 20 acre Californai ranch several horses were languishing, and after securing 14 of Donald’s horses, James decided he no longer had a need for the 63 year old heart patient.

The second man, artist and metal worker David Neily, was introduced to Denoyer by his son, Ryan, who was employed by Denoyer’s construction business. David disappeared in April of 2006 during an investigation of Denoyer for animal cruelty. David’s family reported that Denoyer had threatened Ryan Neily, and had accused 69 year old David of alterting Animal Services to the squalid conditions under which the horses lived and died on Denoyer’s ranch.

The men disappeared after each had told someone they were on their way to the ranch to retreive their items from Denoyer’s property, and there has never been a trace of them seen or heard from since.

Wendy Madden was 23 years old when she was murdered and left behind a now-demolished little neighborhood bar.

On March 11th, 1991, Wendy set out to walk to the store on a cold Monday night. She said she was going to get cigarettes from a place called Store 24, which is now called ABC Liquors.

She was last seen near the intersection of Rail Road Street and Cross Street.

Wendy’s body was found on March 13th behind Jan’s Place, a bar which has now been torn down and is just a grassy lot, dedicated to storing somebody’s covered RV.

Not a nice place to spend your final moments. Wendy didn’t deserve this.

Wendy has not had justice for 27 years. She would be old enough to have grandkids right now. She has missed out on so many of life’s joys.

September 8th, 2015 was a normal day in Orem, Utah except for one thing. That was last anyone ever saw or heard from Emily Quijano or her young son, Gabriel Almiron. Emily’s boyfriend, Christopher Poulson told police and anyone else who would listen that he had to kick Emily out because he couldn’t tolerate her use of drugs in their shared apartment.

That might have been the end of this missing persons story if it had only been Emily who was missing, but cops had a three year old child to find. That all but assured a criminal investigation and the involvement of the FBI.

Welcome to the fourth episode of our series on the I-95 corridor in North Carolina.

Someone spent years preying on the vulnerable women of East Rocky Mount, NC. After several women were found murdered, and one still missing, authorities finally prosecuted a suspect for one of the murders, that of Tara Nicholson.

The rest of the cases are still open and up to $20,000 in reward money continues to be offered for information leading to the ultimate conviction of the killer of the women of Edgecombe County, many of which were dumped off Seven Bridges Road.
